William Duncan Accountants were delighted to offer some insight into a career in accountancy by supporting a work experience placement in October 2023.
The team at William Duncan were pleased to be joined by Greenwood Academy pupil Alysha Bennett who embarked on her week-long placement at the newly refurbished Bank Street office in Kilmarnock.
Alysha worked alongside many members of the firm who introduced her to the world of book-keeping and the essential role bookkeepers play in ensuring a company’s financial records are accurate, payroll and the importance of timely and accurate processing, as well as financial analysis and data input.
She also had the chance learn more about the various digital tools, apps and cloud-based accounting platforms the firm uses to enable real-time collaboration, data-access and partnership with clients.
Lorna Logan, Client Director, guided Alysha through her placement and commented: “It was a pleasure to welcome Alysha to William Duncan and to offer her some practical knowledge during her placement. Our profession has been transformed in recent years by the integration of digital tools and we hope the experience gave her a good understanding of what it is like to work in a modern, technology driven practice.”
