A funding package of £10 million has been announced by the Scottish Government (as of 26 July) to help the Scottish events sector recover from the coronavirus pandemic.

Funding streams will be set up to provide direct support to organisers of cultural, community, and sporting events, as well as to supply chain firms facing hardship, to help keep them in business while restrictions on events are still in place.

It will also look to increase community engagement, and support adaptations to event delivery to enable a safe restart.

Further details of how to apply for funding will be issued in due course. Businesses which have not yet been able to access any of the previous government support mechanisms will be prioritised. Read the Scottish Government’s announcement.
