William Duncan 500 Challenge – an update

This time last Friday, these Ayrshire Accountants were struggling with the hills of Sutherland and Ross and Cromarty on their way to completing the WDC500 cycle challenge.

The total miles cycled in the end was actually 539, and since returning to Ayr on Monday, they have been recovering…..back at work!  None of them have any injuries, and amazingly for the distance and terrain, there were no crashes, no punctures and no mechanical failures!! Legs are very tired, and hunger seems to be a feature as the boys try recover the 7000 calories (yes, 7000!) they each burned per day!!

Here’s a picture of the guys atop Bealach na Ba, at over 2000 feet straight from sea level, the hardest of the climbs they undertook… with Skye and Raasay in the distance.

We have been amazed at the wonderful reaction to our Challenge, and the fundraising has been going extremely well… it is well into 5 figures….we will announce the total next week, so if you have been thinking about a donation, but haven’t quite got round to it, then there’s still time to show your support for the boys’ efforts and visit our donation page at https://www.justgiving.com/campaigns/charity/william-duncantrust/wd500challenge.
