Neil joined William Duncan + Co in 1997, having graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University. He then trained with the firm and qualified with ACCA in 2000 and has subsequently been awarded his practicing certificate. Neil is also a Responsible Individual (RI) for audit and was appointed a Director of the business in 2021.

Neil has a varied portfolio of clients from small limited companies to large group audits and also has a significant number of charity clients. Neil oversees the firm’s audit team and is responsible for maintaining and improving the audit department. He is actively involved in reviewing audits and providing support to the audit team on technical issues and file queries. He also jointly heads up the charity team within the firm. This role involves audit and independent examination and again provides support to the team on technical queries. 

Neil is married with 2 sons and outside of work is a keen runner and footballer. He enjoys watching live sport and music, regularly attending local football and rugby matches along as well as attending concerts. He is a former trustee of Ayr Storm Basketball Club, helping them obtain charitable status and setting up governance procedures.  He is also a member of Business Club Ayrshire regularly attending club meetings and events.
