Kevin advises Individuals about their Income Tax, Capital Gains Tax and Inheritance Tax exposure. He tailors solutions to improve tax-efficiency for individuals with various assets and sources of income by looking at the bigger picture; including clients’ personal and financial situation and their future intentions.
After qualifying as an accountant in 2003, Kevin was appointed Finance Controller for a group of companies in the Insurance industry where “commerciality” was key.
From there he joined William Duncan + Co as a Senior Manager before moving to a prestigious top 20 firm as Senior Tax Manager with a focus on tax planning for High Net Worth individuals. Kevin then joined a big 4 firm where his time was split between Private Client Tax and Corporate Tax before returning to William Duncan + Co as a partner in 2014.
For the owner-managed businesses, Kevin provides advice on:
- Tax efficient introduction of funds
- Tax efficient profit extraction
- Tax, structuring and general commercial advice
- Exit planning / succession
As well as the tax driven advice Kevin offers, he works closely with owners to assist them with their business’s financial reporting, which includes for many, transition onto a cloud based accounting platform and the use of advances in software. This involves looking at the detail of what is being done now and how it can be done more efficiently with better results. Not only does this assist with compliance matters and reduces costs in the long run, but it ensures the business owner has the appropriate information available to him in real time.
As well as being a qualified accountant, Kevin is a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation and The Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners, making him one of the most qualified general practice accountants in the country.
Kevin’s down to earth attitude, technical ability and desire to get to the root of the problem, means that he is a trusted adviser to a number of individuals, whether they be company directors, partners, trustees or private individuals.
Away from work, Kevin likes to spend time with his family, play golf and get outdoors as much as possible.
