A new grant has been opened up for food and drink businesses suffering hardship as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic.

The above grant fund is aimed at Scottish food and drink wholesalers, who sell food and drink into the hospitality sector, on trade or public sector contracts.  The grant is to provide support in meeting fixed operating costs and any additional costs that have been incurred, including losses of stock.

For the purposes of this fund, food and drink wholesale must be the main part of the business.  Eligibility criteria:

  • Food & drink wholesale must equate to 80% or more of business turnover.
  • Business must have seen a fall in sales by 20% or more since March 2020.
  • Business must be classed as a small or medium-sized enterprise (SME).

For example, a meat producer or food processor who make/process products as their main business but also carry out wholesale trade to hotels etc. will not be eligible as wholesale is not the main part of their business.

We are here to help with grant eligibility and application guidelines if you require any further help or advice on this matter.
