There has been another announcement from the Scottish Government, indicating a further allocation of £185m for new and additional business support in the New Year.

The following sectors have been targeted with an allocation of these funds:

 

  • Hospitality businesses – £2,000 – £3,000 (depending on rateable value) one-off grants to cover post-Christmas dip in demand
  • Tourism – £60m fund to be allocated
  • Events, live music, cultural venues, indoor football centres – unspecified fund to be allocated
  • Wedding sector (and supply chain, including photographers) – £15m fund to be allocated
  • Mobile close contact services, including hairdressers & beauticians – £15m fund to be allocated for one-off grants
  • Brewers – £1.8m fund to be allocated
  • Taxi drivers – £19m fund to be allocated for one-off grants
  • Travel agents – £5m fund to be allocated
  • Coach companies & tour operators – £6m fund to be allocated
  • Visitor attractions – £1.5m fund to be allocated.

More detail on eligibility for these funds and how these will be broken down, will be announced over the next few days. Businesses will be able to apply for the new grant schemes in January.
